VRS-37
VRS-37 “Revenants” runs the unglamorous half of CVW-0's deniability: logistics, resupply, infiltration, and extraction for missions that never show up on a manifest. When the rest of the air wing needs fuel, ammunition, people, or something considerably harder to explain moved across half the planet without attracting attention, the Revenants get the call. No fighter jocks. No ready-room glory. Just gray airplanes hauling the things that make sure everyone else can keep flying missions that officially never happened.
Built around a pair of heavily modified C-130Js, VRS-37 operates more like a special operations detachment than a traditional fleet logistics squadron. The Revenants move between austere strips, blacked-out airfields, hostile airspace, and occasionally the deck of Leviathan itself, putting aircraft and crews where conventional support cannot—or cannot be seen doing it. Low-level penetration, clandestine resupply, personnel recovery, special operations infiltration and extraction, and the occasional job nobody bothered writing a checklist for all fall comfortably inside the squadron's definition of “logistics.”
That makes VRS-37 the connective tissue behind CVW-0's shadow war. The fighters may kick down the door and the Growlers may make everyone looking the other direction suddenly go blind, but somebody still has to bring in the team, recover the survivors, replace the broken parts, and get everyone home before sunrise. The Revenants exist for that part. Their measure of success isn't kills painted beneath a cockpit or names printed in tomorrow's headlines. It's simpler than that: the mission happened, the people came home, and nobody can prove VRS-37 was ever there.
