SERVICE RECORD
Every air wing has one guy who actually read the tactics manual. CHIMBO wrote the chapters they wouldn't let you see, then made you brief them back to him.
TOPGUN graduate. Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor. Twenty years of teaching the people who teach the people you brag about knowing. Spent a career in the back of a Hornet doing the thinking for a man in the front seat who was very busy being handsome.
As the wing's WTO, CHIMBO owns the plan. He builds the strike package, deconflicts the airspace, publishes the ROE, and watches in real time as the entire air wing ignores all three. He does not get angry about this. He writes it down. He waits. And then, at 2300, in a debrief that was supposed to be twenty minutes and is now in its second hour, he plays the tape.
Nobody has ever won an argument with CHIMBO. Several have tried. Their callsigns are now different.
He flies with Wet Death because chaos requires supervision and somebody has to explain to VFA-199 why “we'll figure it out airborne” is not a phase of flight. He has never once said I told you so. He simply pulls up the slide he made before the flight, titled “I Will Tell You So,” and lets it sit there.
Rumor holds he's never missed a timeline. CHIMBO neither confirms nor denies this. The timeline does.
“Luck is a plan you were too lazy to write down.”
